MANAZURU 真鶴
Experiencing Japan would not be complete without taking a leisurely stroll around a small fishing village. Manazuru is located two stops away from Odawara station. The steep cliffs, mild weather, and proximity to the sea give way to comparisons to the Riviera. There are many local activities to take part in.
Manazuru itself is a small fishing port located on a small peninsula jutting out into the sea. The area is know for the famous Fishing Boat Festival in which elaborately decorated fishing boats parade around the harbor to ensure blessings for a safe fishing season. The area is home to a wonderful old growth forest for hikes and dotted with places you can swim in the sea. Kayaking, diving, fishing, are some of the activities available in the area. |
